Gucci ad showing 'unhealthily thin' banned by British Regulator

A models appeared to bring newest Gucci collection and are now reaping criticism as judged 'unhealthily thin' by regulatory agencies advertising in the UK, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).

The model discussed because too thin it was Avery Blanchard, who wore a long arm dress in shades retro geometric motifs. As claimed by the regulatory agencies, Avery
Blanchard appeared to pose that made him thinner.

"We see if the stomach and his hands leaning on the back and look disproportionate to the head and lower body," said the ASA. "Furthermore, posing stretching and accentuate her waist so it seems very small."


Besides body shape, her face also criticized. Mentioned, the model looks grim expression with eye makeup , under the eyes too dark to make the appearance looks unhealthily thin. "For that, we consider that the model against the wall looked unhealthily thin image and because it is concluded that the ad was irresponsible."

Gucci told the ASA that the fans in the UK are 'adults and mature' and hence, it is "subjective matter whether the models look
unhealthily thin." Gucci confirmed that the models have a slim physique, but is not represented in a way that "unhealthily thin." The Times also took a side Gucci this time, say if it is a subjective matter.

Even so, ASA remains in his opinion and said that if the ad should not be aired in the UK.
